Turnbull Advisory Services Pvt. Ltd. (collectively, "Turnbull" or "ChartAlert.com" or "ChartAlert.net") is committed to safeguarding your privacy online. Please read the following privacy policy to understand how your personal information will be treated as you make full use of our many offerings. This policy may change from time to time so please check back periodically.
1. Information Gathered and/or Tracked
Turnbull gathers two types of data about users:
(a) personal information that individual users provide
(i) at the time of downloading a demo or taking an evaluation-trial or paid subscription
(ii) voluntarily at certain other points
(b) tracking information, which is automatically collected about every visitor to the website, both evaluation-trial subscribers and paid subscribers.
2. Cancelling Registrations or Subscriptions
A subscriber may at any time cancel his or her registration by sending us an email.
3. Personal Information
Personal information is gathered in several ways. First, when a user registers for a demo or an evaluation-trial subscription, he or she is required to provide his or her name, city of residence, email address, login name/password, contact telephone numbers and billing address to process the transaction. Then, if a demo or an evaluation-trial subscriber decides to upgrade to a paid subscription, in addition to the foregoing information, he or she may provide, at their option, with their designation, business and/or home addresses, and telephone numbers as well.
Although all of this information is generally entered into fields on a secure area of the website, subscribers can talk offline to a customer service representative and receive an invoice in the mail. Wherever we collect personal information, we make an effort to include a link to our Privacy Policy on that page.
Email Communications and Opting Out
E-mail is an important communication channel between Turnbull and its customers. Turnbull also uses e-mail to communicate with prospective customers. Subscribers can receive various email updates that are sent out on a daily/weekly basis containing trading strategies, selected stories and market information, together with some advertisements and hyperlinks to ChartAlert.com or ChartAlert.net website. Any subscriber who wishes to be removed from the mailing lists of one or more of these updates can do so at any time by emailing our Customer Service Desk. We may also use your e-mail address to send you information about services and products we believe may be of interest to you. If you do not want to receive e-mail related to a third party's services and products, simply send us an email at our Customer Service Desk.
Message Boards
ChartAlert.com may provide message boards for user discussion related to investment topics. Only registered users can read and post messages on the boards. No additional personal information is required to post on the boards, but participants are asked in the interests of accountability, honesty and informed dialogue to include their full names in any posting, as well as any positions they have in stocks being discussed (this had been made mandatory by SEBI).
Surveys/Polls
At certain times, users who have registered for demo or evaluation-trial subscriptions may be asked to participate in surveys, which are generally aimed at obtaining general information about our demo or evaluation-trial subscribers, for example, their investment experience or their reactions to a particular article. Because information obtained in these surveys is connected with individual subscribers and is used internally to better market ChartAlert.com's services, participation is voluntary. In addition, some columnists will on occasion take polls of their readers. Such polls are solely for the editorial use of the individual columnists, and participation is voluntary.
4. Use of the Information
Turnbull uses information obtained from its users to enhance their experience on the website.
We do not rent or sell any personal information about our subscribers or other users. As a general rule, we will not disclose any personal information to any third parties, except when we believe in good faith that the law requires it, or if the subscriber has given permission, for example by voluntarily entering a contest, where the information required to register for the particular contest is provided to the partner operating the contest.
We limit the collection and use of personal information to what is necessary to administer our business and to deliver superior service to you. This may include advising you about our products or services, those of our affiliates, and other opportunities that we believe may interest you. All employees are required to safeguard such information, as specified in their confidentiality agreements with us. On occasion we may assist a company that is not affiliated with Turnbull in providing or offering a product or service to you. In such circumstances, the material will include instructions on how you can request not to receive those communications in the future. We do not allow any non-affiliated company to retain your personal information longer than necessary to provide the product, service, or information, unless you affirmatively grant us permission to do so.
Turnbull may disclose account or personal information in special cases when we have reason to believe that disclosing this information is necessary to identify, contact or bring legal action against someone who may be violating Turnbull's Terms of Service or may be causing injury to or interference with (either intentionally or unintentionally) Turnbull's rights or property, other ChartAlert.com users, or anyone else that could be harmed by such activities. Turnbull may disclose or access account or personal information when we believe in good faith that the law requires it and for administrative and other purposes that we deem necessary to maintain, service, and improve our products and services.
