Why you would require a personal anti-virus software
ChartAlert® Ver3.5.2 is being distributed as a suite of self-extracting .Exe files.
These downloadable .Exe files have been scanned for viruses and are virus-free. However, for your own safety, please scan the downloaded files with your personal anti-virus software before using them. If you don't have a virus scanner, you could get one from many places on the internet including: Kaspersky (www.kaspersky.com) | McAfee (www.mcafee.com) Norton (www.symantec.com) | Trend Micro (www.trendmicro.com)
Why several self-extracting .Exe files
The total download size of all the files is over 135MB for .NET+NSE, and over 230MB for .NET+NSE+BSE. 
Due to the size & complexity of the software/ data, the ChartAlert® suite has been split into several self- extracting .Exe files of smaller sizes to ensure easy electronic download. These files should be downloaded into one central location (say, at C:\ drive), from where they can later be installed on your computer. After downloading these self-extracting .Exe files, at the time of installation, if you ever require WinZip on your computer, please get it from WinZip Computing, Inc (www.winzip.com).
Download .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 2
Since our software applications are based on the .NET environment, you'll have to first upgrade your computer to the .NET environment before you can start using our software. So, please download & install "NetFx20SP2_x86.exe" first, before you download ChartAlert® Ver3.5.2, or the NSE and/or BSE DataSets. Note 1: If you already have the .NET Framework installed on your computer, then you could skip the installation of NetFx20SP2_x86.exe. To check whether you have the .NET Framework installed on your computer, go through START >> CONTROL PANEL >> ADD OR REMOVE PROGRAMS and look for "Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0". Note 2: The .NET Framework comes in-built with Windows® Server™ 2008, Windows® Vista and Windows® 7, hence downloading and installing .NET Framework on these computers is not required. 
To download "NetFx20SP2_x86.exe" to your computer, right-click on the link and select "Save Target As..." Further browse & select the C:\ drive of your computer... Then click on "Save"
** Microsoft Supported Operating Systems: .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 2 support is available for the following... 
** Attn: Microsoft has suspended support to all other operating systems. If your OS is not in the above list of supported OS', then .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 2 will not get installed on your computer.
Install .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 2
After downloading the .NET Framework to your computer from Microsoft's website, verify that the downloaded file is free from viruses with your personal anti-virus software. After confirming that the downloaded file (i.e. NetFx20SP2_x86.exe) is free from viruses, double-click on "NetFx20SP2_x86.exe" and follow the on-screen intructions for a successful .NET environment installation.
Download NSE DataSets (self-extracting .Exe files)
After successfully installing the .NET environment on your computer, you can now download NSE stocks & futures data to your computer. These files should be downloaded into one central location on your computer (say, at C:\ drive), from where they can later be installed on your computer.
To download NSE DataSets to your computer, right-click on the links (one-by-one) and select "Save Target As..." Further browse & select the C:\ drive of your computer... Then click on "Save"
Download BSE DataSets (self-extracting .Exe files) (optional)
 The BSE stocks data download is optional and is applicable only if you want BSE daily updates. After successfully downloading NSE DataSets, you can now download BSE stocks data to your computer. These files should be downloaded into one central location on your computer (say, at C:\ drive), from where they can later be installed on your computer.
To download the optional BSE DataSets to your computer, right-click on the links (one-by-one) and select "Save Target As..." Further browse & select the C:\ drive of your computer... Then click on "Save"
Download ChartAlert® Ver3.5.2 (self-extracting .Exe file)
After successfully downloading NSE & BSE DataSets, you can now download ChartAlert® Ver3.5.2 to your computer. These files should be downloaded into one central location on your computer (say, at C:\ drive), from where they can later be installed on your computer.
To download ChartAlert® Ver3.5.2 to your computer, right-click on the link and select "Save Target As..." Further browse & select the C:\ drive of your computer... Then click on "Save"
Install ChartAlert® (alongwith NSE and/or BSE DataSets)
After successfully downloading the NSE & BSE DataSets, and ChartAlert® Ver3.5.2, verify that the downloaded files are free from viruses with your personal anti-virus software. After confirming that the files are free from viruses, please double-click on "ChartAlert_V352_Setup_270112.EXE" and follow the on-screen intructions for a successful installation.  This Flash Demo shows you how to install ChartAlert® alongwith its NSE DataSets, and/or BSE DataSets, on your computer. 
The contents of NSE DataSets (comprising NSE stocks & futures), and BSE DataSets (comprising BSE stocks), will get installed in a permanent data folder at C:\ChartAlertData\. 
If you've installed only the NSE DataSets, then do remember to make sure there are 3200+ data files in the "C:\ChartAlertData\" folder. You can do this by right-clicking on the "C:\ChartAlertData\" folder and looking for the number of files contained in the folder.
If you've installed both NSE & BSE DataSets, then do remember to make sure there are 6700+ data files in the "C:\ChartAlertData\" folder. You can do this by right-clicking on the "C:\ChartAlertData\" folder and looking for the number of files contained in the folder.
Open ChartAlert® software (post-installation)
After successfully installing the software and data files on your computer, you can now open the software from either Start >> All Programs >> ChartAlert >> ChartAlert 3.5.2 or by double-clicking on the ChartAlert 3.5.2 shortcut placed on your desktop.
Activation Process of ChartAlert® software (post-installation)
After successfully opening the software, when you see a Welcome Screen, click on 'Activate ChartAlert' to open the Subscription/Activation dialog box. Now use the 'Copy ProductID to Notepad' option and send us the multi-digit ProductID by email to CustomerService@ChartAlert.com or ChartAlert@vsnl.com in return for a 8-digit UserID (and Activation Key) that will unlock the software on your computer.
After you receive your 8-digit UserID from us (by email), please enter it exactly as provided to you in the Subscription/Activation dialog box and click on 'Activate'. Since the Activation Key will stream from our website(s) through the internet, make sure you're connected to the internet while activating. This Flash Demo shows you . . .

Data Collection using WebUpdate (post-activation)
After having successfully activated the software on your computer, do remember to do WebUpdate through the software to automatically collect and update the latest data from FRI 3-Feb-2012 (NSE/BSE). If you have an unsteady internet connection and are unable to automatically collect and update the data, then you could use the ManualUpdate option to collect and update the latest data from FRI 3-Feb-2012 (NSE/BSE). To manually download data, please go to the data download page(s) at: www.ChartAlert.com (or) www.ChartAlert.net (or) www.TechnicalAnalysis.in This WebUpdate Flash Demo shows you how to collect daily data updates using WebUpdate, while this ManualUpdate Flash Demo shows you how to collect daily data updates using ManualUpdate. 
If you have completed Step 1 through Step 8 without any problems, then you've successfully installed ChartAlert® and its accompanying data on your computer.
FYI, the software (by default) gets installed in the C:\ProgramFiles\ChartAlert\ folder unless you've specified otherwise. NSE/BSE Data for ChartAlert® (by default) gets installed in the C:\ChartAlertData\ folder.
