With over 1,000 stocks being scanned for profitable opportunities everyday, it may become difficult to manage the number of stocks that may get triggered by several stock scanning algorithms available in ChartAlert™ OfflineTrader.
Filtering Securities or Companies with the Filter Command
A special control has been provided in each Stock Scan Report wherein stocks could be filtered to be categorized under three groups (NSE):
- NSE - Top 100 stocks
- NSE - Other stocks (non-Top 100)
- NSE - Penny stocks (stocks trading below Rs.10 per share)
- BSE - GroupA stocks (this report is available separately)
Another special control provided in each Stock Scan Report allows stocks to be filtered to be categorized under various recommendations (market action) that have fired:
- Strong Buy
- Buy
- Weak Buy
- Strong Sell
- Sell
- Weak Sell
Yet another special control provided in the Stock Scan Report allows stocks to be filtered by their industry classification or sectors.
Filtering Securities or Companies by Group
When any Pre-defined Stock Scan Report is open, choose the Filter on Group command from the Options menu to filter the displayed list of Securities or Companies in the Report by their Groups. The portfolio of stocks displayed in any of the Stock Scan Reports have been broadly classified under such Groups as "NSE - Top 100", "NSE - Others" and "Penny Stocks". For example, if you want to filter on, say, NSE - Top 100, choose Filter on Group from Options menu and further choose NSE - Top 100.
The Filter on Group command is also available by right-clicking the mouse anywhere on the Stock Scan Reports and by choosing Filter on Group.
The Filter command is available as an end-user feature to enhance the value of the Reports. The output of the Filter command cannot be saved as a part of the Customized Settings feature available in the Reports.
Filtering Securities or Companies on Recommendation
When any Pre-defined Stock Scan Report is open, choose the Filter on Recommendation command from the Options menu to filter the displayed list of Securities or Companies in the Report on a specific recommendation in the Stock Scans Report. For example, if you want to filter on, say, Strong Buy, choose Filter on Recommendation from Options menu and further choose Strong Buy.
The Filter on Recommendation command is also available by right-clicking the mouse anywhere on the Stock Scans Report and by choosing Filter on Recommendation.
The Filter command is available as an end-user feature to enhance the value of the Reports. The output of the Filter command cannot be saved as a part of the Customized Settings feature available in the Reports.
Filtering Securities or Companies by Sector
When any Pre-defined Stock Scan Report is open, choose the Filter on Sector command from the Options menu to filter the displayed list of Securities or Companies in the Report by its industry classification or sector. For example, if you want to filter on, say, InfoTech, choose Filter on Sector from Options menu and further choose InfoTech.
The Filter on Sector command is also available by right-clicking the mouse anywhere on the Pre-defined Stock Scan Report and by choosing Filter on Sector.
The Filter command is available as an end-user feature to enhance the value of the Reports. The output of the Filter command cannot be saved as a part of the Customized Settings feature available in the Reports.
Advanced Filtering
When any Pre-defined Stock Scan Report is open, choose the Advanced Filter command from the Options menu to filter the displayed list of Securities or Companies in the Report on the basis of up to three different parameters using a combination of an And/Or condition.
For example, if you want to filter a Stock Scan Report on, say, an advanced filtering condition based on Close, Volume and Market Action, choose Advanced Filter from the Options menu and build the above condition as 'Close is Greater Than Rs.500', AND 'Volume is Greater Than 250000 shares', AND 'Market Action Contains BUY'.
The output of this advanced filtering condition will be a list of those securities that were fired as Strong Buy, Buy or Weak Buy, coupled with an end-of-day closing above Rs.500 and volumes exceeding over 250000 shares.
The Advanced Filter command is also available by right-clicking the mouse anywhere on the Report and by choosing Advanced Filter.

Sorting Securities or Companies with the Sort Command
When any Pre-defined Stock Scan Report is open, choose the Sort command from the Options menu to sort the securities or companies in the Report by a particular parameter in an ascending or descending order after you have highlighted a cell under that particular parameter.
For example, if you want to sort a Report on, say, Close, highlight any cell under the Close column and choose Sort from the Options menu. The Report will now be sorted by Close either arranged in an ascending or descending order.
The Sort command is also available by simply left-clicking the mouse on the headers of the Column you want the Report to be sorted on. For example, if you want to sort a Report on, say, Close, just left-click the mouse on the header of the Close column and the Report will be sorted by Close either in an ascending or descending order.
Advanced Sorting
When any Pre-defined Stock Scan Report is open, choose the Advanced Sort command from the Options menu to sort the the displayed list of Securities or Companies in the Report on the basis of up to three different parameters.
For example, if you want to filter a Stock Scan Report on, say, an advanced sorting condition based on Market Action, Volume and Tickers, choose Advanced Sort from the Options menu and build the above condition as 'Market Action' (ascending order), then by 'Volume' (descending order), then by 'Tickers' (ascending order).
The output of this advanced sorting condition will be a Report sorted and listed first by the Market Action in an ascending order, then by Volumes in a descending order, and finally by Tickers in an ascending order.
The Advanced Sort command is also available by right-clicking the mouse anywhere on the Report and by choosing Advanced Sort.
