  Backup your "C:\ChartAlertData\Custom\" folder before you Upgrade:

Please backup all your existing Custom Settings and Line Studies with a date-and-time-stamp so that they can be restored in the future on demand.

Your Custom Settings and Line Studies reside in the "C:\ChartAlertData\Custom\" folder on your computer.

  Important Note on Firewall/ Anti-Virus Software Notifications:

Since you will be upgrading to ChartAlert® Ver3.5.2 by using the in-built 1-click AutoUpgrader, it is possible that you could encounter some exception error messages, or tamper protection notifications, being thrown up by either Windows Firewall or your personal Anti-Virus Software.

These exception error messages or tamper protection notifications occur because the automated download and installation of an upgrade from a 3rd party website (viz. ChartAlert.com, and not from a Microsoft or Anti-Virus vendor website) is sometimes interpreted by Windows Firewall or your personal Anti-Virus Software as virus activity.

Please do not be alarmed, and please be rest assured that this is normal.

After upgrading to ChartAlert® Ver3.5.2, please make sure that your upgrade has been successful by following the steps under "How to check if you have upgraded to ChartAlert® Ver3.5.2 successfully" in the section below.

  Step-by-step instructions to download & deploy the ChartAlert® Ver3.5.2 Upgrade:

1.  Open  the existing version of the software on your computer, viz. ChartAlert® Ver3.5.1.


2. Make sure you're connected to the internet.
   Then click on  Help  in the top menubar, and further select  Check for ChartAlert® Upgrades... 


3. Now please  follow the onscreen instructions  to upgrade to ChartAlert® Ver3.5.2.
   
   Make sure you install the ChartAlert® Ver3.5.2 Upgrade on the SAME DRIVE (of your computer) as the previous version viz. Ver3.5.1. That is, if ChartAlert® Ver3.5.1 was previously installed on (say) E:\ drive, then please install ChartAlert® Ver3.5.2 Upgrade also on E:\ drive only.


4. After successfully upgrading to ChartAlert® Ver3.5.2, please do  WebUpdate  or  ManualUpdate  to get any latest data files that may have been designed for this upgrade.

1.  Open  the new version of the software on your computer, viz. ChartAlert® Ver3.5.2.


2. Click on  Help  in the top menubar, and further select  Contents  or  Index  or  Search. 

   If you're able to open the HELP files, then you have achieved partial success in upgrading to ChartAlert® Ver3.5.2.
   
   However, if you encounter an error at this stage, please go to CA_V352.asp and follow the download and installation instructions on that webpage for a successful upgrade.



3. Make sure you're connected to the internet.

   Then click on  Help  in the top menubar, and further select  Check for ChartAlert® Upgrades... 

   If you see the notification "Your software is up to date", then you have achieved full success in upgrading
   to ChartAlert® Ver3.5.2.
   
   However, if you encounter an error at this stage, please go to CA_V352.asp and follow the download and installation instructions on that webpage for a successful upgrade.

[3.5.2]  Training Toolbar:
    The Training Toolbar allows you to train with a 'known' chart or 'random' chart. [Demo]

[3.5.2]  Technical Indicators:
    A new indicator, viz. Volume Price Confirmation Indicator (VPCI), has been introduced in this upgrade.
    Also, the volume-adjusted moving average option has been included in 8 indicators.

[3.5.2]  Shortcuts:
    You can use shortcuts to change a chart type. For example, SHIFT+'K' will change the chart type to Kagi.

[3.5.2]  Scrolling:
    You can now scroll a chart left or right using keyboard buttons (CTRL+'LeftArrow' and CTRL+'RightArrow').

[3.5.2]  Bugfixes:
    Bugs detected (and also reported by some of you) in Ver3.5.x have been fixed in this upgrade version.
