1-Stock Snapshot Report ("View-by-Company") has been designed as a one-stop feature where the price-volume data and the technical analysis of an individual stock are assembled together in an easy-to-pull-and-print format. Thus, this report serves as a snapshot of an individual stock.
Multi-Stock Snapshot Report ("MyRoutine") has been designed as a one-stop feature where the price-volume data and the technical analysis of multiple stocks are assembled together in an easy-to-pull-and-print format. Thus, this report serves as a snapshot of multiple stocks.

The Candlesticks Pattern Recognition scanner allows traders to explore for end-of-day, end-of-week & end-of-month candlestick patterns. This feature can scan for 60+ Bullish & Bearish patterns, and/or 60+ Reversal & Continuation patterns, and can assemble the results in a fully customizable grid report or overlay them on a chart.
Screeners/ Scanners, besides Candlesticks Pattern Recognition, also include screeners that scan on the basis of ST & MT (proprietary) Trading Systems for approx. 50% of NSE's universe of cash stocks, and scores of Technical Indicators-based algorithms that scan all of NSE's & BSE's universe of cash stocks. The results are assembled in a fully customizable grid report, and in the case of Trading System Scans, the results can also be overlaid on a chart.
The Advisory Module publishes (probable) Trading Ranges on a Daily, Weekly & Monthly scale for 250+ most popular stocks, including those stocks that make up the NSE's universe of F&O stocks. These reports include expected trading ranges, and probable ceiling & floor levels if the stock were to break out of the probable trading range.
The Market Trends & Outlook report published at end-of-day gives a detailed snapshot of the market's overall activity during the day, and the Sectoral Outlook Report published at end-of-day lists the prevalent Top5 sectors and Top5 stocks within each of those sectors on a Weekly, Monthly & Quarterly scale.
The Advisory Module publishes a list of Top50 stocks that could constitute an ideal Model Portfolio on the basis of parameters that are proprietary to ChartAlert®. The Model Portfolio is available both on a Short- & Medium-term basis.

The Technical Events section publishes various Moving Averages, 52-week highs and lows, and recent highs and lows of stocks. The Price Data (Cash/F&O) and the Delivery Statistics section publishes the O-H-L-C-V-OI data of NSE & BSE cash market stocks and NSE futures, and the delivery stats of all NSE cash market stocks transacted during the day.
The Index Composition Reports and Stocks by Sector Reports section publishes such parameters as price data, delivery statistics, technical events, trading ranges, et al, for stocks that have been categorized as index components and sectoral components.
The Buzzing Stocks section publishes a list of Top25 stocks that have been buzzing in the last 5 days (1-wk) and 22 days (1-mo). The reports in this section have been categorized under such heads as NSE Top 300+, S&P CNX 500, CNX Midcap, NSE Smallcap, NSE All, BSE GroupA, BSE Midcap & BSE Smallcap.
The Trending Stocks section publishes stocks that have been trending (in the last 1-wk) on the basis of price, volume & delivery trends. This section also includes the Relative Momentum Studies report, that publishes a list of (short-term) momentum stocks that are segregated as outperformers & underperformers, which are then ranked relative to each other and with the broad market indices to get an overall perspective of its individual standing.
The Unusual Performers section lists stocks that have gained remarkably (accompanied with a surge in Volume) during the day, and stocks that have witnessed gap-up and gap-down activity (that sustained) during the trading day. The Price Performance Reports section shows how stocks have fared in the latest trading week, over a varying period of 1 to 60 days, and 1 to 24 months.

The Advisory Module includes Institutional Trends (FII & MF) reports (issued by SEBI/ NSE) that are a snapshot of the financial transactions (bought/ sold/ net in Rs) done by FIIs and MFs in the cash and F&O segment of the market during the day. The reports include historical data of the last 1 year (~250 trading days).
The Advisory Module publishes the Bulk Deals report that lists all the bulk/block deals that were transacted on the NSE during the day. It also includes Insider Trading and Substantial Acquisition of Shares disclosure reports vide SEBI (Prohibition of Insider Trading) Regulations 1992 and SEBI (Substantial Acquisition of Shares and Takeovers) Regulations 1997.
The Gainers & Losers and Market Breadth section publishes such reports as (i) stocks that have gained or lost over the previous trading day, (ii) list of most active stocks i.e. stocks ordered by the number of shares traded during the day, and (iii) advances & declines statistics i.e. the total number of securities that were traded on the exchange, including the number of securities that gained and the number of securities that lost over the previous trading day.

Reports in the Advisory Module come with a pre-determined set of Technical Events/ Parameters and Securities/ Companies, referred to as Factory Default Settings. Since All Reports are Fully Customizable (involving hiding, unhiding and reordering columns & rows), these default settings can be changed or customized and saved to suit the end-user's trading & investing requirements.
Special Controls like Grouping, Sorting and Filtering are available across all reports in the Advisory Module. That is, securities in a report can be grouped by its Index or Sectoral Classification, or they can be Sorted and Filtered by their technical events or parameters. The Advanced Sort & Filter command also lets you sort or filter securities on the basis of up to three different parameters using a combination of an And/Or condition.
The Printing command lets you print all reports in the Advisory Module. It allows you to control report title & gridlines, column settings, filter options, printer & page settings, besides allowing you to select and configure your printer, customize the printout with page setup, and preview reports before printing.

ChartAlert® Charting Module  (...more details)
The Charting Module's end-of-day coverage/ support includes 1300+ NSE cash stocks, 800+ NSE futures (1-/ 2-/ 3-mo), and 3000+ BSE cash stocks. The future versions of ChartAlert® would also include MCX & NCDEX Commodities, DowJones65, S&P500 and NASDAQ100 component stocks, and leading American, European & Asian stockmarket indices.
The Charting Module provides 6 ways of viewing the pricing information:  Open-High-Low-Close Bars, Candlesticks, Line, Median Price, Typical Price and Weighted Close, with the most common style of price plot being the Open-High-Low-Close or OHLC Bar. Whereas Median Price, Typical Price, Weighted Close and Line charts use only closing prices to plot, Bars and Candlesticks use all four pieces of pricing information viz. Open, High, Low and Close.
The Charting Module provides for several forms of price-plot overlays such as: Bollinger Bands, DEMA, Donchian Channels, Envelopes, Ichimoku Kinko Hyo, Parabolic SAR, T3, TEMA, Time Series Forecast, VIDYA, Wilder's Smoothing, Zero Lag EMA, etc. It also provides for overlaying Volume, Volume+Deliveries and Price-by-Volume study on the price plot. As far as Moving Averages are concerned, there are 9 types available for charting/ screening purposes: Simple, Exponential, Time Series, Triangular, Variable, Volume-adjusted, Weighted, Welles Wilder, Zero Lag Exponential.
The Charting Module has 80+ Technical Indicators to help analyze charts and facilitate trading decisions. Studies can be drawn directly on a chart (overlaid on the price plot like a moving average), or drawn in one or more sub-windows (like Relative Strength Index in a separate sub-window on the chart). You can also quickly browse through all Technical Indicators in a single sub-window instead of plotting multiple Technical Indicators in multiple sub-windows.
The Charting Module includes the fundamental construction tool of chart analysis viz. Line Studies. They are tools that traders draw to analyze chart patterns, and interpret price movement. They are instrumental in measuring price-and-time relationship, and include such characteristics as slope, channeling, retracement percentages, etc. Line Studies in ChartAlert® can be drawn, edited, deleted, zoomed, scrolled and saved for future use.
The Charting Module comes with a Heikin-Ashi chart function for cash market stocks. Although Heikin-Ashi charts are considered slower than candlestick charts, they help cut down on erratic market volatility. And when used in conjunction with candlestick charts, they help improve isolation of trends, i.e. trends can be located more easily to predict future market prices, and trading opportunities can be spotted at a glance.
The Charting Module comes with a Relative Performance chart function for cash market stocks. You can plot upto 10 tickers on a base ticker to compare how all the 11 tickers have relatively performed over a specified period of time, including from the time of inception of these tickers. For plotting RP charts, tickers have been neatly organized as "Indices" or "Sectors" or "A to Z" or "Peer Group".

The Charting Module comes with a Monthly Trading Ranges (MTR) function that plots resistances, supports and the Hinge Price (critical price level) for the upcoming 1-mo period. The MTR function also includes an automated price channel on the chart to facilitate trading of 1-mo futures contracts.
The Charting Module comes with a Fibonacci Retracement Zone or the AutoFibonacci function that innovatively plots fibonacci resistance and support levels for fixed periods of 4-weeks, 3-months, 6-months and 12-months on a chart. The function can be plotted on the daily, weekly and monthly scale.
The Technical Analysis Mask (or CAW Mask) is a template that has been designed by us for select NSE F&O portfolio of stocks (120+), including the S&P CNX Nifty component stocks (~50). Maintained & moderated by our analysts, this Mask allows you to see short-/ medium-/ long-term channels, trendlines, and supports & resistances laid out on the chart.
The Candlesticks Mask is a template that has been designed for all NSE cash and futures stocks and BSE Group-A stocks. The template allows traders to see end-of-day, end-of-week and end-of-month Bullish and Bearish, and Reversal and Continuation candlestick patterns, all overlaid on the chart.
The ElliottWave Mask is a template that has been designed by us for the limited portfolio of 20+ stocks that are analyzed in the ElliottWave Advisory, a short-/ medium-term advisory product published in the Advisory Module. This Mask allows traders to see short-/ medium-/ long-term ElliottWave price labels, ElliottWave channels and supports & resistances marked out on the chart.
The Trading Systems are a collection of powerful tools that keep you informed about the current status of a particular trading strategy for a particular security by displaying buy/ sell/ exit symbols on the chart. They are TA-based strategies that contain complex trading rules. They have been designed on the lines of advisory tools published through the Advisory Module, and they have been screened & ranked for 50% of the NSE cash stocks.
The Trading System algorithms that screen NSE stocks at end-of-day for potential buy & sell signals also come with the ability to backtest a security and list the detailed statistics of that particular trading system. A typical TS Stat report includes: Symbol, Sector, Type & Rank of Trading System, Recommendation, Net Profit, Retention Rate, Success Rate, Relative to Buy/Hold Index, Average Win-Loss Ratio, Profit Factor, Return-On-Account (RoA), ChartAlert® Return Ratio, Risk-Reward Index, Open/ High/ Low/ Close, Volume/ Delivery Volume (DV), % of DV to Volume, etc.
The Charting Module comes with a Scroll/ AutoScroll Charts feature that allows you to move forward & backward through a Group of charts that have been loaded through a dialog window. Simply click the set Group button to set the Group of charts you want to browse or scroll through, then click on scroll-left to scroll backward, or click on scroll-right to scroll forward. You can also set a timer for each chart and AutoScroll through the Group hands-free.

How to Collect and Use Data
The Advisory reports and Charts are the focal point of much of what you do in ChartAlert®.

Thus, before you can look at any research & advisory report and chart, you must have data, i.e. Price and Volume Data. This data includes Open/ High/ Low/ Close/ Volume/ Deliveries/ Open Interest information of stocks/ derivatives for a trading day.

The in-built data downloader, viz. WebUpdate, collects end-of-day and snapshot data (real-time at 11:15AM & 2:15PM) in a custom-defined format with 1-click from our website and updates it into the software.

Alternatively, data can also be downloaded manually from our website (using a web browser) and updated into the software using the ManualUpdate option.

The downloaded data is stored locally on your hard drive, and is made available in 2 formats:
data processed for potentially profitable trading and investing opportunities and presented in the form of technical analysis investment research & advisory reports
data presented in an as-is (value-added) format and referred to as market information & prospecting reports
data presented in a graphical format as charts
Once the data has been downloaded and stored on your local hard drive, all technical analysis investment research & advisory reports, market information & prospecting reports, and charts also get archived on your PC -- you could then retrieve these back issues any time for all your needs!
